Faculty development Project-Teaching in inpatinet setting workshop series

As a part of faculty development program for division of General Internal Medicine and Department of Pediatrics at Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee,I created and implemented this curriculum in collaboration with department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. This contained monthly, one-hour long workshops which spanned over time of six months. We covered topics like providing effective feedback to learners, building effective mini-lectures, rounding at bedside, team and time management on inpatient wards, write effective letters of recommendation, process of promotion, nuts and bolts of academic medicine and how to set up a quality improvement project.

Impact

  • Very well received by faculty with enrollment of over 40 faculty.
  • Due to very encouraging feedback from faculty,we continued these sessions as part of onboarding process for new faculty starting from July, 2020.
  • Poster presentation: National meeting of Society of Hospital Medicine Nashville, TN(4/2022)
